Welcome to Mrs. Pace's
Class
Having grown up in the Enon Community and attended school at Enon High
School for 11 years, Enon Elementary School is where my heart will always
be. My mother retired from teaching here at Enon after 27 years, ranging
from first grade to the eighth grade. I am a member of Enon Baptist Church,
where I teach a Sunday school class of four and five year olds. I have been
married to Jimmy Pace since 1980. We have one daughter, Ashley and one son,
Adam. I am also the proud "Nana" of Dillon Matthew Pace.
Parents complete the "learning triangle" of a child's education. Teachers,
students, and parents all working together can accomplish great rewards for
the students. I am a firm believer of parental support! I expect for the
parents to see that the student does his/her assignments, not do it for
them. As a role model, parents should encourage their children to read
daily and participate in learning activities at home. Finally, I hope that
each parent will call me when he/she has any concerns or problems. We can
work together to make this year a positive experience in the lives of your
children.
Fourth grade is a big transition for most students and parents. Objectives
for the LEAP test begin on the first day! The students will also be
changing classes for the first time. This is the year when your child is
expected to begin accepting personal responsibility for his/her learning.
Oral and written book reports, weekly writing assignments, and keeping a
daily journal are just a few of the responsibilities your child will have as
a fourth grader.
Students need to be prepared for class daily by having all necessary
materials and by having homework assignments completed. They need to be
ready to write every day and participate actively in fourth grade. I expect
my students to be responsible for their own actions in every way! Students
should always possess the attitude that they will give me their best effort
on every assigned task. Every individual in my classroom will be allowed
the opportunity to learn. Therefore, a student's best behavior is always
expected.
