Student Expectations
I expect boys and girls in my classroom to have a fun and enjoyable experience in learning. I expect students to obey the rules of the classroom so that everyone has the same opportunity to learn all that he/she can. Through the hands on procedures of OC reading and Charisim math, each child is able to learn in his/her own learning style. We will complete many projects, work in centers, write stories, read chapter books, and many other exciting activities, finding the best way to be all that we can be in second grade.
Parent Expectations
Parents are very important to the success of a second grade student. You should listen to your child read daily and let them tell you about the story. Give your child the opportunity to see math used in daily math. Telling time, counting money, adding up amounts at the grocery are just a few way you can help your child. It is also very important that you support the teacher's behavior policies and encourage your child to do his/her very best every day. Make sure your child has homework completed and all materials ready for the next day. With your support your child will succeed.
Schedule
Our schedule is very strict so that we can accomplish all of our goals for the year. If a conference is needed, please send me a note or call the office to set up a meeting. I am more than happy to meet with you and discuss your child’s progress.
Welcome to second grade. I have been teaching for 22 years and I love working with children. Every child is special to me and I feel that each one is able to learn. Through the programs we have here at Enon Elementary, every child can find success. Through the classroom, music, library, computer, and PE, every opportunity for learning is evident.
